AMA in the PM: Content Marketing

AMA in the PM | Content Marketing for Employee Engagement, Recruiting, and Retention

AMA in the PM | Wednesday, 3/29 | 6 pm

If you’re ready to move beyond beer taps and bike share programs and get to the heart of and soul of employee engagement, this is for you.

You’ve heard the statistics. You’re feeling the pressure.

Employee engagement and recruiting are near the top of every organization’s list of priorities… and for good reason.

With the ever-growing talent shortage, the boomer-to-millennial leadership handoff, and the continued quest to create workplaces that get people to stick around, now is the time for organizations to get smarter about what employee engagement is really about. Never before have Marketing, HR, and Operations needed to work together more strategically to tackle these challenges, both inside and outside the walls.

Let’s be honest: Free beer, treadmills, and wine events just aren’t enough.

It’s time to accept this. Throwing perks and parties at the problem just doesn’t work anymore. Your employees want to play a part in the larger story of your organization’s mission and be free to contribute their own verse to it. The standard perks are fading away in relevance, yielding to a newer and more soulful desire for employees to contribute to a higher level of meaning within their organizations. Sound sophisticated? What can you do practically? At scale? The way to connect your workforce’s desire for meaning to your organization as a whole is by creating a story-driven content program and connecting it to the daily life of your employees. This content program will work for both your internal and external goals, addressing both employee engagement/retention and recruiting/hiring.

In this presentation, Jon Barnes will share how to develop an on-brand robust content strategy and will give you the tools and tips you need to quickly develop a program of your own. From strategy to implementation, you will learn how to connect the dots between employee engagement, recruiting, and content marketing, moving beyond beer taps and free massages to creating a workplace that’s irresistible. Want to really get your bang for the buck out of this event? Bring your HR and Operations teams too.

Jon Barnes
Director of Communications, ADG Creative

A true creative communicator, Jon has experienced enough seemingly disconnected careers in his short lifetime to confuse any guidance counselor. Charging ahead with the realization that creativity can be applied to any profession, Jon currently works at MD-based ADG Creative where he leads a thriving content marketing practice with clients in cyber, HR, banking, architecture, executive search, and telecom. Speaking frequently on all things content, digital, viral and creative, Jon has run his own advertising and design firm, worked with youth in the non-profit sector, and run marketing for a regulatory consulting firm and legal practice dedicated to helping clients succeed in FDA regulatory compliance. His YouTube channel has millions of views with videos on car design, filmmaking, creativity, and other assorted mayhem. His finest work has involved unicorns and trade show pranks, hand-painted car murals, meteorological impostering, fictional office park war heroes, car design, executive ghost writing, and ancient Greek. He holds an Undergraduate Degree in Theology from Washington Bible College, a Master’s Degree in Modern Studies from Loyola University Maryland, and after flirting with a Doctoral program eventually decided that making YouTube videos was a better investment of energy. A long time Howard County resident Jon lives with his wife Robin and 4 boys in Ellicott City, MD.

Many thanks to our event partner, ADG Creative!
