On Wednesday, February 23rd the AMA Baltimore chapter enjoyed the rescheduled presentation (as a result of the awful snowstorm that we received in January) by Sharon Mostyn, AVP, eCommerce, 1st Mariner Bank. The event took place at Morton’s The Steakhouse, which has become our standard venue for the AMA in the AM series events. Sharon’s presentation, An Analytical Approach to Website Redesign and Overhaul touched on the importance of understanding the data behind your current website and how to use that information to make decisions when redesigning your site.
AMA Baltimore VP of Membership, Dov Hoffman provides a brief overview of Sharon’s insightful presentation and to follow up Sharon’s questions from her presentation asks: Have you recently experienced a redesign or do you plan on undergoing one in 2011? Read the rest of this entry »
Continuing our monthly tradition, we recognize an AMA Baltimore member, who also happens to wear the hat of an outstanding marketer within the Greater Baltimore business community. For February, we highlight Carmen Campbell, a past AMA Baltimore Chapter President, who recently spearheaded an effort that resulted in a corporate sponsorship package between T. Rowe Price, a global investment management firm, and AMA Baltimore.
As a Senior Marketing Manager with the firm’s Individual Marketing Group, Carmen realized the need to create a deeper awareness of the AMA’s local chapter among T. Rowe Price’s various marketing divisions. Important brainstorming sessions took place last summer within the firm that led to T. Rowe’s decision to partner with the Baltimore Chapter. This new corporate sponsorship package covers nine T. Rowe Price associates across five different divisions. Read the rest of this entry »
On February 10, 2011, Dan Zarrella, Social Media Scientist at HubSpot, an Inbound Marketing Software company provided insights on email marketing in a webinar presentation, “The Science of Email Marketing.”
Here’s the first-hand account of AMA Baltimore VP of Membership, Dov Hoffman’s experience and thoughts on this webinar presentation:
Last week, on Thursday, February 10th, I was fortunate enough to attend Hubspot‘s the Science of Email Marketing Webinar hosted by Social Media Scientist, Dan Zarrella. I have come to the conclusion, that as a marketer, it is necessary to educate oneself on the latest marketing trends. As someone who incorporates email marketing into my company’s marketing efforts while seeking continuous improvement, attendance for this webinar was a must. Other marketers felt the same way as indicated by the attendance of over 20,000 registrants for this webinar. Through engagement during the presentation, this became a trending topic on Twitter.

WOW! We’re approaching 2011 and as marketers it’s that time of the year to look into our crystal ball and predict trends for the future. Throughout the course of 2010 I have attended many networking events and presentations to help with my predictions for the upcoming year.
There are certainly going to be doubters who think these have been revealed already in 2010 or even past years, but I personally think there is a lot of potential within the trends listed below. If you follow these, surprisingly they will drive your business, brand, and the interaction your company has with clients (existing, new, and potential).
