Congratulations Debbie Wright! You are AMA Baltimore’s January 2012 Volunteer of the Month. This is our time to share your amazing contributions to our chapter with the world!
Debbie is one of our longest standing members, as she joined the Baltimore chapter in 1983 (sheesh, she was practically in diapers). Her loyalty and commitment shines through as she serves on the membership committee. Each month, Debbie is responsible for membership retention and engagement, and judging by our solid and growing membership numbers, she does an excellent job. In addition, she manages the Marketing Career Network job database for AMA Baltimore.
In her spare time, Debbie is a marketing manager for FedChoice Federal Credit Union managing events, advertising efforts, and marketing materials to prospects and customers. On top of it ALL, she finds time to help her daughter select a college and enjoy Katy Perry concerts with her husband (no, we’re not kidding, she is a very avid Katy Perry fan).
Debbie – thank you for everything you do for this chapter and we all look forward to continued success.

The Baltimore AMA was proud to honor Afnan Idris, Professional Development Chair for Salisbury University’s AMA chapter, volunteer of the month in September. Afnan does an excellent job connecting other local collegiate AMA chapters with the Baltimore chapter through event planning and social media. Even though she is our youngest board member, she has proved to be a natural networker by securing dynamic speakers to plan and promote successful events for her local chapter.
In addition to her work with the AMA, Afnan is the emerging face of student business leaders at Salisbury University, with award winning pursuits of professional development and leadership skills. With work experience in the Middle East, pursuing a dual major in Marketing/Information Systems, and a minor in Spanish, Afnan is creating the new standard of being a well-rounded student. Recently, she has developed a new Professional Development Series through AMA Salisbury to assist fellow students to enhance personal development, strengthen leadership, and expand their networks.
Congrats Afnan! We’re proud to call your our own. Keep up the great work!

Continuing our monthly tradition, we recognize an AMA Baltimore member, who also happens to wear the hat of an outstanding marketer within the Greater Baltimore business community. For February, we highlight Carmen Campbell, a past AMA Baltimore Chapter President, who recently spearheaded an effort that resulted in a corporate sponsorship package between T. Rowe Price, a global investment management firm, and AMA Baltimore.
As a Senior Marketing Manager with the firm’s Individual Marketing Group, Carmen realized the need to create a deeper awareness of the AMA’s local chapter among T. Rowe Price’s various marketing divisions. Important brainstorming sessions took place last summer within the firm that led to T. Rowe’s decision to partner with the Baltimore Chapter. This new corporate sponsorship package covers nine T. Rowe Price associates across five different divisions. Read the rest of this entry »
