Press Release
AMA Baltimore Launches 2017-2018 Mentor Connections Program

BALTIMORE, MD — The American Marketing Association Baltimore Chapter (AMA Baltimore) is pleased to announce the launch of its 2017-2018 Mentor Connections program. In follow-up to last year’s success, AMA Mentor Connections is accepting applicants until December 1st. This unique mentoring program pairs established marketing experts with future marketing leaders.

Mentor Connections is designed for individuals who are relatively new to the marketing industry, including young professionals with a minimum of three years’ experience who are passionate about growing and learning. Participants will learn about many aspects of the marketing profession, discover potential career paths, and develop new skills.

“We are excited for another strong year of our Mentor Connections program,” said Patricia Banks, VP Mentorship and Professional Development. “After last year’s overwhelming success, we’re looking forward to furthering the development of Baltimore’s marketers and building a stronger marketing community.” Our newly formed committee spearheaded last year’s Mentor Connections program with the core focus of providing specialized opportunities and programs for local marketers to connect and advance.

Participating mentors will represent the Baltimore area’s prominent companies. In the past, mentors have come from companies including BGE, Horseshoe Casino Baltimore, IBM, Johns Hopkins Medicine, Maryland Auto Insurance, T. Rowe Price, and World Trade Center Institute. For mentees, there will be a wealth of marketing knowledge across a diversity of careers ranging from entrepreneurs to senior marketing executives.

Heather Gwaltney, a past mentor summed up the spirit of Mentor Connections by saying, “When you go through your career you learn so much that you want to impart to others, so they can make the best decisions for their future.”

Limited spots are available. Both AMA members and non-members are encouraged to apply before December 1st. Full program details and application criteria are available at http://www.amabaltimore.org.
