BALTIMORE, MD – AMA Baltimore is pleased to announce the 2023-2024 Chapter Theme: Connect. Engage. Inspire. This Chapter continues to thrive as a community of dedicated marketing, advertising, and creative professionals by connecting members through purpose-driven programming, engaging through exposing marketing trends and industry updates, and inspiring the next generation of leaders by delivering professional development opportunities.

Inspire. is a rallying call that directionally aligns to build the momentum of the Chapter while shining a light on the excellence that AMA Baltimore has been bringing to marketing professionals and college students in the area,” said Keisha Clarke-English, AMA Baltimore President. “AMA Baltimore is a driving force that has unified the local marketing, advertising, and creative community for years – together we want to continue to fuel, inspire, and deepen connections within the community.”
Connecting members through purpose-driven programming
AMA Baltimore has already hosted seven events connecting over 250 attendees in its 2023-2024 chapter year. These events included one networking program as part of the #AMAMingle Networking Series, hosted by Fifteen4. Marketing, advertising, and creative professionals across the Greater Baltimore area were able to come together to discuss industry trends, career goals, and advice for their fellow marketers. The Chapter also hosted two Link+Think workshops for non-profit marketers to discuss marketing issues, resources, and tools unique to non-profit organizations. AMA Baltimore’s educational programming Speaker Series has also seen great success, with speakers presenting on a wide range of topics, including data-driven video strategies, techniques to improve your marketing with improv, differentiation for customer-focused brand messaging, and how to remain consistent in an ever-evolving digital ecosystem. AMA Baltimore is thrilled to kick off its 2024 programming with AMA in the PM: It’s a Barbie World: How Smart Marketing Made the Barbie Movie.
“From a programming perspective, our goal is to provide relevant, engaging, and memorable events for every AMA Baltimore attendee, so naturally the Chapter theme of Connect. Engage. Inspire. speaks to this vision,” said Katie Ballance, VP of Programming. “We know marketers have a lot on their plate and their time is incredibly valuable, so every event should provide an opportunity to connect with their peers or subject matter experts, engage with relevant in-demand marketing content, and then leave inspired to impact their own marketing efforts.”
Engaging through exposing marketing trends and industry updates
As a community of marketing professionals, AMA Baltimore makes a special effort to keep its members aware of the latest marketing trends. These trends are shared during the many programming events shared above, but also through external social media channels, particularly the Chapter’s X (formerly Twitter) and LinkedIn accounts. Although the organization is an immediate advocate for marketing professionals based in the Greater Baltimore area, AMA Baltimore is a proponent of all AMA Chapters and often shares relevant content and thought leadership from other AMA Chapters across the nation.

Inspiring the next generation of leaders
No matter where one is at in their marketing career, AMA Baltimore seeks to inspire individuals at all stages. This inspiration is felt throughout the entire spectrum of the professional journey; from our reach to undergraduate college students to seasoned professionals. The Chapter is thrilled to bring back its Eileen Gwin Undergraduate Marketing Scholarship, which seeks to support and inspire talented marketing students attending an accredited college or university in Maryland. To start the new year off strong, AMA Baltimore’s Mentor Connections mentorship program is making its long-awaited comeback since the COVID-19 pandemic. This unique program pairs established marketing experts (Mentors) with early-, mid-, or advanced-level marketing professionals (Protégés), targeting those looking to upskill, make job transitions, or grow an entrepreneurial venture for one-on-one mentoring. The aim is to help Protégés make progress toward specific career goals, regardless of where they are in their respective career journeys. Mentoring is a journey that each Mentor and Protégé co-create and co-inspire.
The 2023-2024 chapter year marks a new and revitalized era for AMA Baltimore. We have recently increased the number of Board members with new, talented, and diverse additions. Our team – from Executive leadership to our stellar volunteers – works with one thing in common; a passion for marketing. It is our duty – beyond this chapter year – to connect, engage, and inspire our marketing community.
