AMA Baltimore Now Accepting Applications for the 2024 Eileen Gwin Undergraduate Marketing Scholarship

BALTIMORE, MD – The American Marketing Association Baltimore Chapter (AMA Baltimore) is now accepting applications for the 2024 Eileen Gwin Undergraduate Marketing Scholarship. Undergraduate students pursuing a degree in marketing or a related field are eligible to apply. As in past years, AMA Baltimore is offering the following scholarship awards to qualified students:

  • One (1) 1st place scholarship – $3,000
  • Two (2) 2nd place scholarships – $1,000
  • Four (4) 3rd place scholarships – $500

“By offering a merit-based scholarship program, AMA Baltimore seeks to both support and inspire the next generation of marketers as they prepare to enter the industry that we are so passionate about. Not only do Maryland students have the power to influence our organization and industry locally, but they also have the power to shape the future of marketing as we know it. It is our mission to provide them with the resources and opportunities they need to do just that,” says Natalie Farrell, VP of Collegiate Relations.

Students are encouraged to apply if they are:
  • A full-time, undergraduate student attending an accredited college or university in Maryland.
  • Pursuing a degree in Marketing or a related course of study (i.e. – General Business, Communications, English, Advertising, Public Relations, Market Research, etc.).

Applicants at 4-year colleges/universities must have enough credits to qualify him/her/them as a sophomore, junior, or senior as of the Fall 2024 semester. Full-time community college students planning to attend a 4-year college/university in Fall 2024 must have enough credits to qualify him/her/them as a junior upon transfer.

The Eileen Gwin Undergraduate Marketing Scholarship is named in memory of  former AMA Baltimore President and Vice President of Programming Eileen Gwin. Eileen unfortunately passed away in 2018 after battling stage 4 colon cancer which there wasn’t a cure for. She was instrumental in the growth of our chapter for multiple years having a great impact on our organization, our marketing community, and our members, and these scholarship awards honor her legacy.

Past winners attended institutions including Johns Hopkins University, University of Maryland College Park, Towson University, Goucher College, Prince George’s Community College, and more. Applicants will be required to submit their transcript, resume, and a recommendation letter to be considered for these awards. They must also be available for a 30-minute phone interview with the Scholarship Selection Committee April 8-19. Applications are to be submitted no later than March 31st, 2024.
