AMA Baltimore Announces 26th Annual Undergraduate Student Job Search Workshop

BALTIMORE, MD – Undergraduate students are invited to register for AMA (American Marketing Association) Baltimore’s annual Student Job Search Workshop, on Saturday, April 14 at 1 p.m., at the Loyola University Graduate Center in Timonium. Now in its 26th year, the event is open to undergraduates of all majors. This workshop provides a unique opportunity to meet local marketing executives and learn about the varied career options within the marketing field.

The afternoon includes multiple panel discussions with breaks for networking, giving students ample time to make valuable connections with hiring managers at many local and regional organizations. Students can choose from two tracks, depending on career interests, encompassing topics such as advertising, social media, market research, analytics, sales and public relations. In past years, panelists have included executives from Pearson, McCormick & Company, Merkle, T. Rowe Price, Under Armour, Weber Shandwick and The Baltimore Ravens, among others.

Workshop organizer Leslie Kendrick encourages all undergraduates with an interest in marketing to attend. “Year after year, students tell us the experience was worthwhile. This is one of the few opportunities they will have to meet with marketing executives face-to-face and learn about their experiences. Our speakers enjoy interacting with the students and sharing their wisdom on job searching and career paths.”

Last year’s event attracted over 60 students from 16 colleges and universities in Maryland and neighboring states. Recent Towson University graduate Lillian Hulbert, who attended the workshop during her junior and senior years, speaks enthusiastically about her experience: “Each year I learned something new. I’ve made new connections and even landed a job interview. By attending the workshop, I was able to clarify my interests within marketing. Like many undergrads, I knew what I liked but I wasn’t sure how that translated into a real job. Having the opportunity to talk with industry professionals about their jobs helped me figure out what would and wouldn’t be a good career fit.”

This workshop is for undergraduate students only. Advance registration is required. For more information on the Student Job Workshop and to register, please visit bit.ly/26AMASJSW
