AMA Baltimore Announces Virtual 5K, “Marketing It Forward 5K”

BALTIMORE, MD — The American Marketing Association Baltimore Chapter (AMA Baltimore) is excited to announce their virtual 5K walk/run, Marketing It Forward 5K, to benefit local collegiate students. Held during AMA’s Marketing Week, the race will raise funds for the annual Eileen Gwin Undergraduate Marketing Scholarships.

Registrants will walk or run anytime between October 4th through October 10th and will be able to upload their times to be eligible for awards. The theme for the inaugural Marketing It Forward 5K is “School Spirit.” Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite collegiate gear and tag AMA Baltimore on social with the hashtag, #AMABaltimoreRuns.

“We are excited to announce our virtual 5K and look forward to seeing everyone’s school pride,” says Anne Rubin, President of AMA Baltimore. “Our community has shown tremendous support of the collegiate community over the years. We look forward to seeing our participants continue to support the next great marketers by running, walking, or donating.”

The Eileen Gwin Undergraduate Marketing Scholarships are awarded to undergraduate junior and senior students pursuing a degree in marketing or a related field. In past years, AMA Baltimore has awarded upwards of $7,000 over multiple scholarships to students. Past winners attended institutions such as John Hopkins University, University of Maryland College Park, Towson University, Goucher College, Prince George’s Community College, and more.
