Press Release
AMA Baltimore Launches 2018-2019 Mentor Connections Program

BALTIMORE, MD — The American Marketing Association Baltimore Chapter (AMA Baltimore) is pleased to announce the launch of its 2018-2019 Mentor Connections program. This mentoring program provides tomorrow’s marketing leaders with a unique opportunity to recognize their potential and explore new career paths. AMA Baltimore’s Mentor Connections program is accepting applications until December 1, 2018.

Mentor Connections is a mentorship program that pairs established marketing experts with future marketing leaders to facilitate the exchange of ideas and knowledge. Mentees will engage with mentors to learn more about the marketing profession,  discover potential career paths, and gain insights and advice on career development.

“We are thrilled to launch another great year of our Mentor Connections program which is now in its third year,” said Dana Hamer, VP Mentorship and Professional Development. “Having a mentor to serve as a guidepost along your career path is invaluable for any young professional, and we’re excited that AMA Baltimore continues to provide this unique program to our vibrant marketing community.”

Mentees will be paired with mentors who have a broad range of marketing experience and specialization, from entrepreneurs to senior marketing executives. Mentors from prior years have represented some of Baltimore’s prominent companies, including T. Rowe Price, BGE, Wells Fargo, Stanley Black & Decker, IBM, Maryland Auto Insurance, and Johns Hopkins Medicine.

Takafuni Watanabe, a student at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and participant in the 2017-2018 Mentor Connections stated, “I strongly believe that mentorship positively affected my life…I strongly recommend and encourage people who have great ambition to participate in this program. A phone call or a cup of coffee with your mentor can change your entire life.”

Limited spots are available. Both AMA members and non-members are encouraged to apply before December 1, 2018. Full program details and application criteria are available at http://www.amabaltimore.org/mentorconnections.
