Alex Kagwima
Alex Kagwima serves as VP of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for AMA Baltimore. Using her passion for social justice and diversity, Alex is excited to work alongside the DEI committee to apply diverse initiatives that not only bolster BIPOC’s within the organization but also in other marketing companies overall. By bridging relationships between AMA and BIPOC’s in the industry, Alex and the DEI committee hope to change workplace culture and increase inclusivity and representation in marketing.
Prior to her joining our organization, she attended Loyola University New Orleans where she received her BA in Communications and Marketing. During her time there, she developed a deep passion for the field, interning for various nonprofit organizations including the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation. After college, her drive brought her back to Baltimore to bring her unique perspective into practice. Currently, she works for Money Map Press as the Marketing Retention Specialist. In this new role, she develops campaigns to retain subscribers to their monthly financial newsletter.
In her free time, Alex enjoys spending time with her friends and family and enjoys an active lifestyle, attending Orangetheory often. Her favorite quote is “dark times lie ahead of us and there will be a time when we must choose between what is easy and what is right.” She’s excited to bring diversity and inclusion into the marketing industry and is ready to make the hard, but right decisions for the field.
