Claire Howachyn serves as VP of Marketing + Communications for AMA Baltimore. In this role, she will manage AMA Baltimore’s social content to achieve engagement and continue to establish AMA Baltimore as a thought leader in marketing. She will work closely with Lauren Yoffe, also VP of Marketing + Communications, to provide compelling content that interests and applies to members, volunteers, and prospective members. Her goals include growing our social following and keeping Baltimore marketers updated on everything going on with AMA Baltimore — programming, what members are up to, and the latest trends in the marketing industry.

Claire has been involved with AMA Baltimore since 2017 and volunteered on the Marketing and Communications committee. She is currently an account executive/communication specialist II at Van Eperen, an integrated communications firm. She manages day-to-day communications with clients, with duties including media relations, pitching, development of marketing and PR campaigns, creative development, and more. “Being creative about story angles, innovative campaign ideas, and problem-solving at Van Eperen carry over greatly to my roles at AMA Baltimore,” says Claire.

Claire has a BA in Communications from the University of Maryland and also volunteers with the Public Relations Society of America, Maryland Chapter. She assists with event planning, social media content creation, and blog writing. As the biggest dog lover you’ll ever meet, Claire enjoys volunteering with a local animal rescue, World Animal Guardians, that brings dogs from Kuwait to the US for adoption.

A marketer, leader, or entrepreneur that Claire looks up to: “Caroline Miller is a speaker, educator, and author who studies and speaks about the science of successful goal-setting and the use of ‘good grit’ to achieve hard things. She believes in empowering women, which is very important to me. Caroline’s philosophy of taking on challenges and tough situations in life and creating positive outcomes from them speaks to me.”
