BALTIMORE, MD – Volunteering for a professional organization means more than having a line item for a resume. Those who contribute their skills and time to a cause find fulfillment and joy in helping shape, grow, and support the community that the organization serves. Volunteering — in any form — is essential to keep a community not only functioning, but thriving.
The American Marketing Association Baltimore Chapter (AMA Baltimore) is currently seeking volunteers to help grow our marketing community. AMA Baltimore is the leading provider of networking, educational programming, and resources for marketing professionals. As a chapter, we are dedicated to keeping the members of our community at the forefront of marketing trends, issues, and more.
AMA Baltimore volunteer, Nicole Haslip, says that volunteering has helped with her professional development and creative growth. “The organization facilitates a sense of community among Baltimore area communicators — we can all learn something from each other’s experiences. It has been a great avenue for creativity for me and a way to get myself out of my comfort zone. I’ve been exposed to come real grassroots marketing efforts through the Mentor Connections program using the resources we had on hand, and I am a better marketer because of it,” says Haslip.
There are six committees that are at the heart of AMA Baltimore:
- Marketing + Communications
- Collegiate Relations
- Mentorship + Professional Development
Each committee has a variety of needs for those looking for a long-term volunteering commitment or a micro-volunteering opportunity. Whether you’re interested in creating monthly content or manning the registration table at an event, AMA Baltimore has a position for every type of volunteer. Opportunities include, but are not limited to:
- Content creation for web, social, and email
