Marketing/Creative Internship – Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC)

Position: Marketing/Creative Intern

Summary: This paid internship is a unique opportunity to apply your communications and graphic design talents to expand and build on your skill set and experience. We seek a person who is equally strong in writing and creative to supplement the efforts of our marketing team. Our culture is collaborative and positive. Learning Goals:

  • Develop knowledge about competitive strategies
  • Learn the importance of collaboration
  • Understand BOC marketing strategy and brand
  • Uphold customer satisfaction


  • Prompt attendance at Owings Mills office
  • Participate in marketing meetings
  • Refine and implement a website monitoring project
  • Design a communications campaign
  • Assist with design and re-sizing of advertisements and other marketing materials
  • Create and schedule social media posts in Hootsuite
  • Conduct online marketing research as necessary
  • Other projects as assigned

Skill Set Required:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Extensive experience with InDesign; experience with other Adobe Creative Suite products a plus
  • Extensive knowledge of web and social media platforms
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Drupal or other content management systems a plus
  • Ability to both collaborate with a team and work independently
  • Ability to manage several projects at once and manage time efficiently
  • Detail-oriented, creative, self-motivated

Preferred Areas of Study: Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Communications, Writing

Internship details:

  • Location: Owings Mills, MD
  • Start/End: September-December 2016 (start date is flexible)
  • Hours: Flexible schedule, 20 hours/week between 9am and 5pm, Monday-Friday
  • Compensation: $10/hour
