Do you ever wish you had a crystal ball to help you anticipate change and better plan your marketing strategy? On April 6th, AMA Baltimore has an upcoming program which is the next best thing. Mathew Sweezey, Director of Market Strategy at Salesforce and best-selling author of The Context Marketing Revolution, will speak to the AMA Baltimore community about what’s currently happening in marketing that will impact the future, what changes to anticipate, and how to set yourself up for success.
During this AMA in the PM session, “The Future of Marketing,” Sweezey said he will discuss key areas of disruption, including the disappearance of third-party cookies, the evolution to “walled gardens,” and the progression of one-to-one marketing to human-to-human. Sweezey will also bring up new ideas such as the impacts of “Gen I,” and the need for data flywheels.
Sweezey acknowledges that the COVID-19 crisis has accelerated much of the change he foresees in both B2C and B2B marketing. It has changed both consumers and the marketplace. “We had to pivot quickly,” he said. “The question is, can you continue to maintain this pace and if not, you are going to miss out.” He predicts that the lasting change will be the increased importance of marketing transformation. Organizations will emerge with new skills that they deploy in new ways.
By attending this session, Sweezey hopes people will have a solid view of what will be happening in the next few years in the world of marketing. He identifies these three key takeaways:
- The next data revolution and the need for data flywheels.
- Why you must learn to work with the market, not on it.
- The need for marketing transformation and what that means for your organization.
So, if you want to future-proof your business, make sure to attend this can’t-miss session.
