The American Marketing Association Baltimore Chapter is an entirely volunteer-run organization. Each quarter, the Chapter selects a Featured Volunteer in order to recognize the extraordinary effort of these hard-working and dedicated individuals. The Featured Volunteers are nominated and voted on by the Chapter’s Executive Board.
Nikki Ucheya of the Collegiate Relations Committee has been selected as the Featured Volunteer for Fall 2025.
A Digital Communications Specialist at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Nikki is a dynamic and purpose-driven marketer making a meaningful impact across the Greater Baltimore region. She has strengthened the digital presence of multiple organizations, led content creation across diverse platforms and audiences, and partnered with teams and stakeholders to elevate strategic communications.
Her leadership and creativity have been recognized through the Arts Legacy Award and a nomination for the University Experiential Learning Outstanding Achiever Award—both from Johns Hopkins University. In May 2025, she also showcased her artistic talents as an Artisan Market vendor at Baltimore Artscape.
Elevating Collegiate Relations and Student Opportunity
Nikki joined AMA Baltimore and served as the AVP of Collegiate Relations during the 2024–2025 Chapter term. In just one year, she played a pivotal role in the success of the 2025 Career Connections Workshop and the 2025 Eileen Gwin Undergraduate Marketing Scholarship Program. Her strategic mindset and enthusiasm contributed greatly to the chapter’s vision of strengthening ties with local collegiate AMA chapters. Nikki also authored the blog Campus Catalyst: Steven Simpson’s Journey to Collegiate Marketing Leadership, further showcasing her talent and commitment to student advancement.

Beyond her past leadership role, Nikki continues to be a standout volunteer.
“She has been AMAzing in supporting the transition of new leadership within the Collegiate Relations Committee and remains actively engaged in helping new collegiate chapters get established,” said Dr. Takisha Toler, AMA Baltimore VP Collegiate Relations. “Her commitment and passion for advancing opportunities for students make her an invaluable part of our AMA Baltimore community.”
Leadership Through Service
Nikki’s continued dedication is a powerful reminder that leadership is not defined by a title—especially at AMA Baltimore. It is defined by impact, service, and a genuine commitment to others. Despite her full schedule as a busy marketing professional, Nikki continues to make AMA Baltimore and the broader marketing community a priority. She actively supports the Collegiate Relations leadership team, lends her expertise to the Committee’s ongoing initiatives, and contributes meaningfully to the Chapter’s overall success.
Whether she’s developing digital media content, offering strategic insight, or stepping outside her assigned duties to assist fellow leaders across the organization, Nikki consistently raises the bar. Her willingness to go above and beyond embodies the very spirit of volunteerism that strengthens and defines our AMA Baltimore community.
