The American Marketing Association Baltimore Chapter is an entirely volunteer-run organization. Each quarter, the Chapter selects a Featured Volunteer in order to recognize the extraordinary effort of these hard-working and dedicated individuals. The Featured Volunteers are nominated and voted on by the Chapter’s Executive Board.

Michael Kinstlinger of the Marketing Committee has been selected as the Featured Volunteer for Summer 2024.

Kinstlinger is an Email Marketing Specialist at Lee Tilford Agency, a full-service advertising agency that handles all facets of traditional advertising, as well as web design, branding, creative design, and packaging. Prior to his current role, Michael’s online marketing history has seen him craft and analyze campaigns for PayPal, Liberty Mutual Insurance, MedStar, Loews Hotels, Cracker Barrel, AutoZone, Bertolli, Fitbit, and Texas’ largest chain of liquor stores.

As a seasoned marketer, Michael was introduced to AMA Baltimore in the Fall of 2022 by his former colleague, Dov Hoffman, vice president of sponsorship. Hoffman recognized the need for an expert to fill the email marketing gap of AMA Baltimore at the time. Working closely with Kinstlinger for a couple of years and knowing his reliability and skills, Dov asked Michael to join AMA Baltimore as a volunteer on the Marketing + Communications committee supporting email marketing efforts.

“When I was asked to join AMA as a volunteer, it was a no-brainer,” said Kinstlinger. “It’s been a great experience using my skills to help AMA, but it has also given me the opportunity to expand and grow my talents alongside some amazing and talented people.”

For over two years, Michael has been a cornerstone of AMA Baltimore’s email marketing initiatives. Blending creativity, analytics, and instinct into every campaign, his expertise has transformed AMA Baltimore’s email communications.

“Michael has played a pivotal role in the marketing committee by crafting targeted email campaign strategies that have driven engagement, increased our event attendance, nurtured relationships, and contributed to the overall success of our marketing and communication efforts, said Amy Barley, vice president of marketing. “His hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed, as it has amplified our brand awareness and fostered a stronger connection with members and non-members alike.”

In addition to crafting more than 150 email campaigns, Kinstingler has offered his wisdom by contributing to the AMA Baltimore blog, including:

“One of the best parts of volunteering with AMA Baltimore has been the friendships and connections I’ve made. Working alongside so many talented people has been incredible, and there’s a unique camaraderie in this community of marketers,” said Kinstlinger.

Michael’s creativity, reliability, and congeniality continue to amplify our brand, forging deeper, lasting connections within the Greater Baltimore marketing community.

When he’s not wearing his marketing hat, Michael enjoys coaching his daughter’s soccer teams, tracking ice cream blogs, and convincing his two teenage girls that music before the year 2000 can also be good.
